Minster becomes a member of the Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP)
February 2022
Specialist distributor Minster has become a full member of the UK’s leading trade body dealing with fire protection, the Association for Specialist Fire Protection, known as ASFP. This news comes on the back of the recent appointment of fire protection expert Carrie Blackshaw as Fire Protection Sales Director and Minster launching its complete fire protection product range with the campaign ‘Spread The Word’.
Reece Bailes, Sales Director for Minster comments: “Becoming a member of the highly respected ASFP is an obvious step towards our ambition to becoming the industry supply partner for both materials and expertise in the fire protection and fire stopping market. By joining the ASFP we are amongst a community of organisations working together to influence the legislation and regulations that will improve the fire safety performance of buildings. That’s an important step for Minster.”
Minster was able to demonstrate to the ASFP that it has the breadth of fire expertise required throughout the branch network to be able to fulfil the criteria of becoming a full ASFP member and under the guidance of Carrie Blackshaw, is growing the number of specialist fire protection experts across Minster. Carrie explains more: “Over 100 colleagues have completed the Minster Fire Protection & Fire Stopping training and through this process we are now working with a team of colleagues who will complete advanced training, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to offer expert advice and support on projects that have a specific fire protection requirement. By joining the ASFP we are at the centre of the debate and discussion surrounding fire protection in buildings and with this knowledge we will be able to improve our own knowledge and service offering to customers. Protecting people and protecting buildings is our number one priority in launching our fire protection range, but equally it’s essential that we back this up with advice customers can trust, and ultimately come to rely upon.”
ASFP CEO Steve Davies said: “We are delighted to welcome Minster as a member of the ASFP. One of the Association's key aims is to raise standards and improve the quality of passive fire protection products and installations and it is encouraging to see Minster's investment in increasing specialist fire protection knowledge in the supply chain. We look forward to working with them and providing technical, training and developmental support through our extensive range of member services."
