Based in Rhos-on-Sea, Coleg Llandrillo is the largest teaching campus of Grŵp Llandrillo Menai.
Offering a wide range of full time, part time, professional and apprenticeship courses, the campus has a huge range of teaching facilities including two training restaurants, hair and beauty salons, a sports centre with gym and 3G pitch; it is also home to the Marine & Built Environment Centre (MBEC), the Institute of Health & Care and The ‘University Centre, Coleg Llandrillo’ (UCCL) which is equipped with state-of-the-art lecture theatres and seminar rooms, as well as specialist library resources, IT facilities and study areas.
Superior Ceiling Solution
Working closely with our partner, Celt Installations, we supported the recent refurbishment of Coleg Llandrillo, providing a specialist suspended ceiling solution and wall panels.
With acoustic properties, aesthetics and speed of fit all key requirements, an Ecophon ceiling system was specified for this project. Advantage™ A tiles with exposed grey metallic grid were supplied, specifically selected as each tile is individually demountable and provides easy access to the soffit above - meeting the speedy-install requirements and essential functional prerequisites.
Ecophon Advantage™ A tiles also offer the highest sound absorption levels so met the project’s exacting acoustic requirements whilst being aesthetically pleasing and in keeping with the interior design. Given Coleg Llandrillo is a high-traffic area, another advantage of the Ecophon system was that it is easy to keep clean, having a batch-painted surface that contains a water-based paint so can be both wiped and vacuumed.

Project Co-Ordination
Faced with tight timescales and moving deadlines, this project required constant collaboration and liaison between our team at Minster Buckley, Ecophon and the Celt Installations team. The Ecophon system is manufactured in Sweden so it was imperative that order deadlines and delivery dates were well co-ordinated with work progress.
